Intellectual property
The films, photographs, texts and logo presented on this site are the property of Carrot Studio or of their respective authors. They are protected by the French intellectual property code.
Any reproduction, public screening, adaptation or making available, in whole or in part, requires prior written permission. A request for a screening or for any other use may be sent to contact@carrotstudio.fr.
The music used in the films remains the property of its rights holders.
Any rights holder who finds one of their works used here may ask for its removal or replacement at contact@carrotstudio.fr. The video concerned is then unpublished without delay, for as long as it takes to replace the soundtrack or to withdraw the film for good.
Recordings of concerts and stage performances are not published on this site, as the rights to the works performed do not allow it.
Image rights
The people who appear in the films and photographs have agreed to this publication. Any recognisable person who wishes an image to be removed may ask at contact@carrotstudio.fr. The removal is carried out without delay and with no need to give a reason.
For minors, the request may be made by the person themselves or by their legal representatives.
Personal data
This site has no form, no user account and no advertising tracker. It sets no cookie and sends no data to any third-party service. Nothing is sold, rented or shared.
The only information kept in your browser, on your own device, is the volume and the video quality you have chosen, and the list of films already counted as viewed from this device. It is sent to no one. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it.
The view counter
View counts are shown nowhere on the site. They are kept for the association alone, on its own server, without going through any outside service. A view is recorded after a few seconds of actual playback, never when a page is merely loaded. Your browser remembers which films it has already had counted and does not report them again: watching one a second time does not raise the figure twice.
We also measure what is actually watched. Each film is cut into forty equal slices; the player records which ones went past, the total playing time and the length of the film, and sends that from time to time and when you leave the page. It tells us whether a short film is watched through or abandoned along the way, which is the only thing we are trying to find out. Nothing else is recorded: not the pages you visit, not where you came from, not what you click on. These readings attach to the fingerprint described below - the same one as the view - and create no additional identifier.
So as not to count the same person several times, and to stop a robot from inflating the figures, the server has to tell visitors apart. Your IP address is neither recorded, nor displayed, nor kept. It is used only, at the moment of playback, to compute an irreversible fingerprint through the SHA-256 function, combined with a secret key drawn at random and known to the server alone. That fingerprint, and it alone, is what is kept. It allows neither tracing back your address, nor identifying you, nor knowing which other films you have watched.
For IPv6 addresses, only the beginning of the address is used, the rest being discarded before any computation. The technical logs of the server receive only a truncated address that identifies no one, and the calls to the counter do not appear in them at all.
This processing rests on the legitimate interest of the association in
measuring the audience of its films. It serves no advertising, no
profiling and no resale. If you would rather be neither counted nor
measured, blocking requests to the /api/ path of this site
is enough, and the video player will keep working normally.
If you write to us, your message and your e-mail address are processed solely in order to reply, and kept for as long as the exchange requires. Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the French data protection act, you have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, to be exercised at contact@carrotstudio.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Outside resources
This site makes no connection to any third-party service. The typefaces are stored on the site’s own server and served from it, so your IP address is passed to no one.
The videos are hosted on this site and not on an outside platform. Playing them causes no connection to YouTube, Vimeo or any equivalent service.
